Here are some thoughts to ponder about what ghosts are: Ghosts...Spirits In The Bible - Ghosts In Christianity (Author Unknown) I write this to show the Christian religious that yes, the bible does contain ghosts, or "spirits." I feel it necessary to correct the mis-thinking that the traditional, Christian religion has created by stating, "ghosts are impossible...because when one dies, they are either in heaven or hell." This is incorrect. First of all, heaven is simply the realm of spirit; and hell is the state of a mind bound by fear created through mis-thinking. Religious, Christian doctrines create much of the fear that places people in a self-created hell or prison of the mind. Secondly, ghosts are possible because the spirit realm and physical realm co-exist; yet are on different planes. Thirdly, some ghosts may not be people on the other side; they could be residual energy or thoughts left over from traumatic or emotional past events. The Christian bible is full of "paranormal" activity...why not ghosts? Ghosts and spirits are one in the same - they are people on the other side of the grave...in the afterlife, if you will. They are common in scripture, if you look for them mentioned within the Christian bible. One of the first verses that most are aware of is in I Samuel 28:15, where Saul has a medium, "call up" the prophet Samuel from the other side of the grave: "And Samuel saith to Saul, Why hast thou troubled me, to bring me up?" Most Christians will bury their heads and come up with an excuse for this scripture that God allowed this for one occasion. Or fundamentalists (traditional Christians) may say this wasn't a ghost but Samuel was resurrected back to life. Or they may even say that this wasn't Samuel at all, but a deception from the woman - a trick. Yet, the scripture is very clear that this was Samuel; and as Samuel had died and crossed over to the other side...that would make him a spirit or ghost. This passage should also plainly show that mediums can have contact with people on the other side. This medium, whom Saul used, saw many people on the other side, when she was calling up Samuel. One should also note in this verse, that Samuel had maintained his form of an old man wearing a mantel, just like many documented ghost sightings of apparitions, report the ghost to be dressed in "period dress" from their own time era, here on earth. Moving into the Christian new testament, we see Jesus having "appeared" to many after his resurrection. To "appear" indicates the idea of manifesting from the invisible to the visible, just as a spirit or ghost might manifest, from the spirit to the physical realm. It is interesting to note that he "appeared" to Simon (Luke 24:34); and he "appeared" to Mary Magdalene (Mark 16:9). Jesus "appeared" to two of his followers in a different form that was not recognizable to them. What? I mean they had a conversation with him and still didn't recognize Jesus physically! Yes, the scripture says: Mark 16:12, "...to two of them, as they are going into a field, walking, he was manifested in another form." He also "appeared" to the eleven disciples and stood in the midst of them during their conversation (Luke 24:36). Can you imagine that? He manifested right before their eyes from the realm of spirit. But what is interesting to note is Jesus' statement concerning their fear of him "appearing" right before their eyes: Luke 24:39 "...handle me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see me having." Well, at first blush, one might argue, hey, Jesus wasn't a spirit or ghost because he had flesh and bone. I would have to agree, but I might add that Jesus still was "appearing" like a ghost or spirit might do. Does flesh and bone "appear" out of thin air? However, the biggest point might be missed if one does not consider Jesus' statement further, about not being a spirit or ghost...he was in effect stating that spirits (ghosts) do exist, but that he was not like them! This common belief in ghosts is found in another new testament passage, as well. You may remember Jesus walking on the water towards his disciples who were in a boat on the sea. The verse in Matthew 14:26 states: "and the disciples having seen him walking upon the sea, were troubled saying, 'It is an apparition,' and from the fear they cried out." Apparitions were obviously believed to exist and even by the followers of Jesus who were learning rapidly about the spirit realm from him. Other people obviously believed in ghosts during Jesus' time on earth, because they "appeared" in the city of Jerusalem after Jesus' resurrection: Matthew 27:52-53, "and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who have fallen asleep, arose; and having come forth out of the tombs after Jesus' rising, they went into the holy city and appeared to many." The writer of Hebrews, (probably the apostle Paul) mentions the fact of spirits being all around us, in Hebrews 12:1, "Therefore, we also having so great a cloud of witnesses set around us." This to me, is confirmation of the spirit and physical realms co-existing with one another, but on different planes. It is a spiritual truth, that what exists here on earth, must first exist in the spirit realm; for spirit is the life-giving force behind all. And that spirit is God. God is life. The bible proclaims in the Lord's prayer, "On earth (physical realm), as it is (first) in heaven (the realm of spirit)." But there is one last bible passage I wish to share that many overlook that proves the manifestation of spirits from the spirit realm into this physical world. That verse can be found in Mark 9:4, in the famous Mount of Transfiguration passage: "and there appeared to them, Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus." Wow! This passage not only proves that spirits can manifest here, but it shows a very important spiritual truth, as well. Jesus spoke with people on the other side of the grave. Therefore, those on the other side of the grave can speak to us! The religious will try and explain this passage away; but the fact remains, it is not only possible for ghosts to exist, but Jesus, who is to be our example, shows us some spirits communicate with us! Why did Jesus choose only to reveal this truth to James, John and Peter? To us, this truth has been spoken against by traditional Christian doctrine for years. Yet, Jesus felt it important enough to reveal to these three disciples what was really going on "behind the scenes." Jesus seemed to understand quite a lot about what was going on "behind the veil" of this physical world. Perhaps, we should follow his example and not fear ghosts; but seek to understand the truth of the spirit realm. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
What are Ghosts? (Author Unknown) Fundamental, traditional Christianity does not allow at all for the existence of ghosts, because of fear-based doctrines, which sadly divide mankind - one from another. Teaching both a place of the eternally damned called, "Hell," and a place of eternal bliss for the good called, "Heaven," the Christianity attempts to place all earthly departed souls in one of these two after-life worlds. Unfortunately, much of society has been influenced by this idea, simply because they were taught it is true. It is important to understand why we believe certain things, and in this case why society in general has such a misunderstanding concerning ghosts and spirits. So seemingly, Christianity & ghosts do not mix. Yet, Jesus' message was very different than what is being taught today as truth; religion today has messed up our understanding of the spirit realm. This has created much mis-information of ghosts and how they can exist, in light of what many have been taught as impossible. Many ask, "What are ghosts?" If we consider the message of Jesus contained in the manuscripts, rather than religious ideas created after him, we should see he taught the realm of spirit (or spiritual world) to co-exist with this physical world. All of us exist in the realm of spirit and that realm is the life-giving force of all - in all, and through all that is...and is everywhere. "We live, move and have our being in Him (Spirit)." Call that spirit God, if you like...the Divine energy: the sum of all the parts, perhaps? In that context, your soul, and for that matter all souls, would be participating in the unseen realm of the spirit (a different plane of existence) and the physical world we know, at the same time; while we seem to only be able to identify with this physical realm. It is like being in a room with a two-way mirror. We think only those in the same room with us can see our actions, but are not aware of the audience we may have on the other side of the mirror. Hence, I am participating in both worlds, but only aware of the one in which I am able to see. In Hebrews it states, "We are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses." This perhaps would explain how others on the other side would be able to see us and speak to us; yet we may not be aware of their presence, yet they are with us just the same, interacting with this realm at times. Maybe, they feed us some of the thoughts we think, and we think those same thoughts and call them our own. Therefore, from the Christian perspective, the existence of ghosts and the paranormal manifesting within this earthly realm should be quite possible. When we "cross over" to the other side at what we call "death," we leave our attachment from this physical realm by leaving the vehicle (the body with the sensors) that keeps us in the physical world. My theory for the existence of this physical world, is that it is used to individualize each person from the whole (spirit, or God). Think of, how a baby after birth, begins to notice itself and stares for long periods at its hands and fingers. Then the baby grows, and the mind and emotions mature, as well. Then perhaps the detachment from this physical world is necessary, as the purpose for it has been completed. The soul - spirit body separates from the physical body by the "silver cord being cut." The silver cord is thought to be the connection between The Spirit, our individual spirit, and the physical body which it keeps animated - for the spirit gives it life. The next step is being freed from mis-thinking created here on Earth (guilt, fear, condemnation) and the knowing of truth ("The truth shall set you free.") - learning who we are and the power we have been given to create and overcome (but do not yet fully understand...Jesus demonstrated this power for us, in the physical realm). We will examine different passages of the Bible to demonstrate that ghosts or "spirits" are both contained in the New and Old Testaments. I will also give some speculation as to how different paranormal phenomena possibly line up perfectly with different biblical terms and events. Why do I mention such religious things? I do so to help others overcome the fears that were placed within them by religion itself. What better way to remove it than to use the same information in a good way. What are ghosts? Ghosts are people in spirit, no longer having bodies. They have remained earthbound for various reasons which can always be summed up as being fear. Ghosts are people who need freed to move on in their life-journey. Enjoy the ghost information, and hopefully come to an understanding regarding ghosts, spirits and the realm of spirit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Protection From Ghosts (Author Unknown) Protection From Ghosts What does protection from ghosts mean? Do I need to protect myself from ghosts? If you are around an environment that you believe is inhabited by a negative ghost, and you are vulnerable to fear of ghosts, then you need to take precautions. Be sure and read How To Get Rid Of Ghosts and How To Tell If You Have A Ghost. Negative ghosts will attach to those who are fearful, because fear is darkness. Ghosts, being in darkness, can sense this and thus know who they can over-power. If a ghost wishes to do harm to a person, they can do so only to those who are “spiritually drained” or “dry.” In other words, fear becomes the doorway to allow an entity to be able to bring harm. For those who are spiritually aware, protection from ghosts are not an issue for they do not fear them. A ghostly attack may be manifested many ways in a weak person, such as being frightful, disoriented, weak; having feelings of negativity, thoughts of depression, thoughts of suicide or even ghost possession. Not all of these symptoms are indicative of negative ghosts being present, but have been noted as signs of negative ghostly presence from those who are vulnerable. Sexually perverse ghosts called incubus or succubus have also been experienced by some. Protect From Ghosts – Negative Entities The best way to not be vulnerable to ghost attacks is to be aware of who you are spiritually. In other words, being in touch with the inner spirit (who you really are) is the best way to be empowered. Meditation brings realization of one’s spirit, especially as detachment from the physical realm occurs. Spirit is love, life, truth and peace – fear has no place. Spirit is light. Knowing that nothing an harm you (unless you believe it can - through fear) is very powerful. Being aware of your “oneness” with God and all that exists is the truth of who you are. This truth is light and power. Some techniques of people to help overcome fear of ghosts and to become empowered include: 1) Calm yourself down and speak while breathing in,“I am…” (and breathe out) “relaxed.” Imagine yourself fearless, all-powerful in spirit and tell the ghost, “No. Leave now.” 2) Envision a holy figure standing with you. Absorb their energy and strength. 3) Imagine you are a light bulb and visualize the light filling you from your toes to your head and broadcasting into the room around you. This is your shield of light that vanquishes all darkness. 4) Prayer to your religious figure, guide, angel, etc asking for assistance, light and protection also reportedly works for some people. Final thoughts on Ghost Protection When we lose control of our minds and bodies due to sickness, sexual addictions, over-use of alcohol or drugs, we may open ourselves up to negative entities. If we are led outwardly by the physical world with no regard for our spirit, then we walk through life spiritually “dead.” Signs of this “deadness” include a life marked by anger, jealousy, greed, revenge, hatred, perverseness, pleasure, gain, etc. One can either choose to be filled with light (positiveness: truth, peace, joy, and love) or darkness (negativity: fear, condemnation, guilt, worry, hatred, anger, greed, etc). The choice is always an individual one to make. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ghosts of Arizona have their own thoughts of what ghosts are.. This is just some information that was found on the Internet about ghosts, spirits, and the Bible. Ghost: A ghost is the energy, of a person who has died and has somehow gotten stuck between this plane of existence and the next. Most researches believe that these spirits do not know they are dead.. Very often they have died under Traumatic, unusual or Highly emotional circumstance. |
